Ken Nason, Founder/ Principal Consultant

Ken is the founder and principal consultant of Pole Line Communications & Campaigns where he manages complex public affairs and advocacy campaigns for Fortune 500 companies, developers and organizations throughout the United States. 

Ken has over 20 years of experience in public affairs, government relations, and political campaigns, and has worked in the offices of a United States Senator and a State Senate President, where he served as Director of Communications. He has a deep understanding of legislation, public policy, and land use, and enjoys all things political- especially at the local level.

Ken has helped clients in a broad range of industries (including energy, gaming, local government, retail, manufacturing, and cannabis), across multiple states (including California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Tennessee, Indiana, Mississippi, and Maine), build support for complex land use projects, navigate organized labor issues, overcome NIMBY or local government challenges, and protect market share in communities.

Ken has also directed several award-winning political media campaigns for candidates, organizations and local governments, and has managed grassroots campaigns for school and community college districts resulting in the passage of over $3 billion in bond measure funding for California schools. 

Ken has a Juris Doctor degree and three years’ experience in a civil litigation law firm. He lives in Davis, California with his wife and daughter and volunteers for the Davis Joint Unified School District as an elected member of the Site Council and the Measure M Bond Oversight Committee.
